IT Solution Owner (Data and Reporting)

Morrinsville, New Zealand

Reference: 6716687

Are you a data expert ready to make a global impact?
At Power Farming, we're more than just a leading importer of agricultural machinery and JCB Construction equipment—we're a third-generation family business that supports teams across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States. Our mission? To keep the wheels of agriculture and construction turning globally.

We're looking for an experienced Data and Reporting Engineer to join our global IT team. Based at our Head Office in the Waikato, this is your chance to lead the way in building data pipelines, managing data warehouses, and delivering reports that drive real business decisions across three continents.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Solution Owner (Data and Reporting), you'll be the go-to person for all things data. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to gather, analyse, and turn raw data into actionable insights. Whether it's creating dashboards, optimising data sets, or shaping our data strategy, you'll be at the heart of decisions that matter.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and optimising Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reports that simplify complex data into clear insights.
  • Leading the development and implementation of our data strategy and governance framework.
  • Managing data integrations to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Using your advanced data visualisation skills to tell compelling stories through numbers.
  • Taking ownership of product data management, including backlogs, pipelines, versioning, and UAT processes.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and explaining complex concepts in ways that non-technical colleagues can understand.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience working with enterprise-grade Microsoft Data Warehouses (including Fabric) and as a BI Developer.
  • Know your way around Power BI in a complex wholesale/distribution environment.
  • Have experience managing Microsoft Data and Reporting environments, both on-prem and in Azure.
  • Are an excellent communicator and skilled at stakeholder management.
  • Have a strong background in data governance and requirements gathering.
  • Are business-focused, analytical, and adaptable, with a knack for planning and organisation.

Experience with MS Dynamics (ERP) is a bonus but not essential.

Why Power Farming?
